Pay: $67.31 - $84.13 per hour DOE
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer in Boise, ID you’ll have a passion for contributing to projects that enable the heart of our clients’ manufacturing. Join us and you will have the chance to work on projects including semiconductor cleanroom, laboratories and other state of the art manufacturing and service areas. You’ll oversee designer work, provide team technical leadership, perform quality reviews of design packages and assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process. You’ll also interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site. You and the other members of your team will work closely with client owners in a fast paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
Your responsibilities will include engineering and design oversight for facility power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications systems in some of the most complex industrial facilities on the planet.
With your solid understanding of all phases of construction document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications, you will prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction and will be our Electrical discipline lead or Quality Control reviewer in project meetings. You will participate in project proposals and will suggest solutions to our clients to problems they didn’t even knew they had.
Qualifications:
Here is what you’ll need:
• Bachelor's or Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure with ability to obtain in State of Idaho.
• At least 15 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical
• Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
• Be well versed in methods to perform voltage drop, arc flash, short circuit current, and load flow calculations.
• Be well versed in engineering practices and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of electrical equipment and hardware.
• Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
• Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
• Ability to perform site punch walk services.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Semiconductor and/or Data Center/Mission Critical facilities electrical design experience
• Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
• Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Passionate about buildings and construction
Other Requirements:
Location:
• This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Boise, ID.
• Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.
Physical Requirements:
• Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
