Material Handler/Forklift Operator

The purpose of this position is to receive, transport, store, monitor, and distribute materials. Must perform functions in a safe manner, ensuring efficient use of time and materials.



ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key AccountabilitiesSpecific Duties
Warehouse
  • Monitor stock levels of stored materials.
  • Check receivers for the day; prepare to place the incoming materials.
  • Put materials away: this includes stocking, consolidating, and reorganizing.
  • Process materials according to “Proper Receiving Procedures.”
  • Organize materials for the most efficient use of space.
  • Process all Receiving paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Assist with inventory counts when needed by the Lead.
  • Follow up with purchasing on materials due to dock, past due, shorted.
  • Kanban- updated, stocked, cards made, and all ordered via SmartSheets.
  • Provide crews with proper consumable material in each department.
  • Opening and closing responsibilities when directed by the department Lead.
  • Ensure all materials are put away/not left out daily.
  • RTV communication (with purchasing) and handling.
  • Slob (excess materials) tracked and monitored.
  • Ensure materials and supplies stored both in the warehouse and outside are safe from damage, theft, and loss.
Forklift Driving
  • Deliver materials to production.
  • Complete daily inspection of the forklift before the production shift begins.
  • Conduct safety inspection and maintenance on the forklift before use each time.
  • Ensure the forklift does not damage Blazer property (overhead doors, buildings, etc.) while in operation.
  • Contribute to the overall plant cleanliness by keeping doorways, aisles, and areas of building movement free of pallets, siding, ceiling/floor tiles, and other materials that can be moved with a forklift.
Other Duties
  • Load ship kits.
  • Fill propane bottles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must speak and understand English to conduct daily business (training, safety, job assignments, etc.).
  • Good work ethic.
  • Authorization for using company vehicles requires a valid Oregon Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • General knowledge of the materials used is preferred.
  • Ability to properly prioritize multiple requests.
  • Requires attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to problems.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

  • $20-$25/HOUR DOE
