GLISS General Labor & Industrial Staffing Solutions is hiring for a locally owned and operated modular construction company located 20 minutes outside of Willamette Valley. We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber that would focus on installing any and all types of plumbing that would perform functions in a safe manner, ensuring efficient use of time and materials, while honoring our customers’ commitment to quality workmanship. 


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•    Frequently lift, move and carry materials weighing 50 - 100 lbs.
•    Subject to irritation of eyes, skin, and respiratory tract from sawdust and other dusty surfaces. 
•    Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.  
•    Duties are normally accomplished in a climate-controlled area, but occasionally required to work outside in heat or cold.  
•    Subject to cuts, scrapes, splinters, and burns due to the tools and materials used.  
•    Occasionally required to wear protective equipment or clothing that may be heavy or uncomfortable.
•    Work in confined workspaces occasionally (small areas or shared with other crews).
•    Required to wear assigned PPE at all times when on the production floor. 
•    Frequently exposed to noise.

Main Duties

•    Plans and performs jobs of installing a variety of plumbing components. Diagnoses plumbing trouble.
• Works from plumbing diagrams. Planning may involve the determination of the method and sequence of operation and the selection of materials to be used.
• Uses hand and power tools.
• Keep the plumbing area clean and tools organized.
• Works independently and may provide direction to an apprentice or to less experienced plumbers.
 

Other Duties

• Cross-train in other areas within the Mechanical Crew.
 •    Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold a State of Oregon Plumbing license.
• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good work ethic.
• Experienced in the operation and use of equipment, fabrication of components, and materials used by the plumbing crew.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Ability to find creative solutions to problems.
 • Must have reliable transportation.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

  • $35/HOUR
