GLISS General Labor & Industrial Staffing Solutions is hiring for a locally owned and operated modular construction company located 20 minutes outside of Willamette Valley. We are seeking a general laborer that would work as a mason hoodie who would be responsible for assisting the brick/block/stone masons by supplying or holding materials or tools and cleaning the work area and equipment.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
- Erect scaffolding or other installation structures.
- Cut materials to specified sizes for installation, using power tools or tile cutters.
- Clean installation surfaces in preparation for work activities.
- Arrange and store materials, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Clean installation surfaces, equipment, tools, work sites, and storage areas, using water and/or chemical solutions.
- Provide assistance in the preparation, installation, repair, and/or rebuilding of tile, brick, or stone surfaces.
- Select or locate and supply materials to masons for installation, following drawings or numbered sequences.
- Transport materials, tools, and machines to installation sites.
- Maintain a clean and safe work site.
- Other Duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the cement construction trade.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings
- Frequently lift, move and carry materials weighing 50 - 100 lbs.
- Subjected to irritation of eyes, skin, and respiratory tract from sawdust, dust and fumes.
- Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally confined work spaces (small areas or shared with other trades).
- Duties are normally accomplished in a climate-controlled area, but occasionally required to work outside in heat or cold.
- Subject to cuts, scrapes, splinters, and burns due to the tools and materials used.
- Occasionally required to wear protective equipment or clothing that may be heavy or uncomfortable.
- Frequently exposed to noise.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
- $20/HOUR
