GLISS General Labor & Industrial Staffing Solutions is hiring for a locally owned and operated modular construction company located 20 minutes outside of Willamette Valley. We are seeking a general laborer that would work as a mason hoodie who would be responsible for assisting the brick/block/stone masons by supplying or holding materials or tools and cleaning the work area and equipment. 


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
  • Erect scaffolding or other installation structures.
  • Cut materials to specified sizes for installation, using power tools or tile cutters.
  • Clean installation surfaces in preparation for work activities.
  • Arrange and store materials, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Clean installation surfaces, equipment, tools, work sites, and storage areas, using water and/or chemical solutions.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation, installation, repair, and/or rebuilding of tile, brick, or stone surfaces.
  • Select or locate and supply materials to masons for installation, following drawings or numbered sequences.
  • Transport materials, tools, and machines to installation sites.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work site.
  • Other Duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the cement construction trade. 
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings
  • Frequently lift, move and carry materials weighing 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Subjected to irritation of eyes, skin, and respiratory tract from sawdust, dust and fumes.
  • Stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally confined work spaces (small areas or shared with other trades).
  • Duties are normally accomplished in a climate-controlled area, but occasionally required to work outside in heat or cold. 
  • Subject to cuts, scrapes, splinters, and burns due to the tools and materials used. 
  • Occasionally required to wear protective equipment or clothing that may be heavy or uncomfortable.
  • Frequently exposed to noise.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
  • $20/HOUR
