A local, family-owned Lumber Company is looking for someone to join their warehouse team.
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position that offer excellent benefits upon permanent hire.
Assistant Warehouse Manager Job Duties:
- Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, including materials management, shipping/receiving, and inventory control.
·Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
·Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer demand and ensure timely order fulfillment.
·Assist in the development and implementation of demand planning strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts.
· Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
·Manage fleet operations, including maintenance, scheduling, and compliance with safety regulations.
· Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments, monitor delivery performance, and identify areas for improvement.
·Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement lean principles in warehouse operations.
·Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to warehouse operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
- Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Assistant Warehouse Manager Requirements:
- Previous experience in warehouse management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of materials management principles, including demand planning, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Experience with budgeting and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems or other relevant software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.
