GLISS General Labor & Industrial Staffing Solutions is seeking a Welder to join a locally owned and well-established specialty construction firm in Salem, Oregon. Job Responsibilities:

• Testing welding and safety equipment

• Cutting, assembling, and repairing building components like girders and beams

• Checking for gap and angle allowances

• Welding and assembling metal pieces and products using handheld welding equipment

• Setting up parts for welding

• Using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures

• Working from specifications, drawings, and weld symbols

• Preparing and completing work on materials through welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal

• 
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficiency in welding techniques

• Familiarity with safety procedures

• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and schematics

• Strong communication skills

• Excellent hand-eye coordination

• Steady hands and stamina for prolonged periods of work

• Capacity to work with large pieces of metal

• Ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver safely around equipment

• Experience operating and setting multiple types of welding equipment
