A high volume manufacturer of grouts and mortars for the tile industry is seeking a production lead. They have an immediate need for a Batch Operator in our Aurora, OR plant.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Operate machinery as directed while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce an excellent product. Scrutinize production schedule with supervisor for priority products. Gather all formulas and have them checked by the Q.C. Laboratory for approval. You will verify the correct amount needed on the main computer panel to be automatically pulled. Must follow mixing procedures and communicate with forklift operators as well as the Q.C. staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements

  • Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction

  • Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements

  • Perform minor routine machine maintenance

  • Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product

  • Make sure housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned are

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous machine operator experience and mechanical skills

  • High school diploma/equivalent

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure formulas

  • Work independently

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments
