  • Troubleshoots, installs, repairs, and maintains machinery, incorporating mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles of operation. The machines include, but are not limited to CNC, manual horizontal and vertical lathes, grinding mills, finish mills, air compressors, kilns, cement coolers, and elevators.

  • Moves or helps move machinery and equipment to job location, if necessary.

  • Facilitates equipment set up and initial operation. Sets anchor bolts, and installs bed plate, base or frame, adding shims or grouting to achieve proper elevation. Using blueprints or manufacturer’s instructions, plumbs, levels, and aligns machines. As necessary, assembles machines from blueprints and instructions. Sets engines or motors in place, aligning shafts and couplings.

  • Installs and replaces motors, hydraulic transmissions, variable and eccentric speed drives, speed reducers, and couplings. Repairs and replaces roller chain, flat belt, and V-belt drives, clutches, and gears.

  • Performs routing, plumbing, and pipefitting on equipment and building when directed.

  • Operates threading machines to chase threads on pipes. Uses thread gauges to measure threads on pipe, bolt, and selects proper die for desired thread.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety rules and practices.
