A large medical devices company is looking for an efficient Shipping Clerk to join their team. The Shipping and Receiving Associate verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Assures proper control of parts inventory and related administrative functions. Great food in the door opportunity, 6 month contract to hire position.
•Identify and count items of incoming and outgoing shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
•Distribute materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
•Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
•Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items.
•Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
•Marks materials with identifying information.
•Opens boxes, creates, and other containers and prepares parcels for shipping.
•Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
•Maintains inventory records.
•Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experience required.
•Must have a minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training.
•Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Possess a customer-centric commitment to build and maintain customer relationships.
•Display energetic, self-motivated and quick thinking with positive attitude.
•Certification to drive forklifts preferred
Work Environment Requirements
•Performs work of a highly repetitive nature.
•Will walk and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 40lbs.
•May handle packaged hazardous materials.
•The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
•Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
