Summary:
- The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring all products are shipping according to company quality, procedural, and safety practices. Shipping for all accounts.
Job Description:
- Prepare packing in advance even if it’s not on the shipping schedule with Shipping Clerks (Planner provides shipping schedule every 1st of the month).
- Follow the Lead Shipping and supervisor’s instructions to ensure the timely shipment of products.
- Must perform all aspects of shipping-related activities (i.e. Packaging, shrink wrapping, labeling, pallet movement) to move products from and to the customers daily.
- Execute proper procedures to pack and prepare shipments for customers.
- Fulfill orders and update inventory.
- Maintain stock for shipping supplies.
- Coordinate completion of preparing shipments with carrier pickup times/schedules.
- Forklift certification would be an added advantage.
- Pack parts/supplies in crates, boxes, or skids.
- Responsible for the integrity of shipping documents, including customs documentation required for international shipments.
- Interface with all customer-provided carriers for pick-up arrangements and documentation.
- Communicate any discrepancies and/or performance issues to the Lead Shipping and Supervisor promptly.
- Check each shipment before packing to ensure that the goods match the order.
- Assists in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the shipping area.
Qualifications:
- Completed high school plus a minimum of three years' experience in shipping or material handler/kitting position.
- Experience in SAP ERP System is a plus.
- Previous experience with UPS/FedEx/DHL Systems and other freight carriers for Shipping both International and Domestic products.
- Ability to accomplish tasks promptly.
- Ability to follow established procedures and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Forklift certified (sit down, stand up) preferred.
- Knowledge in Packing, labeling, and RF Scanner.
- Must be able to lift to 35 lbs.
- Must know how to operate the Pallet jack.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
