ASSEMBLER 1


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):


Weighs propellant and liner ingredients, mixes liner and propellant. 

Cleans, insulates, barrier coats, and lines motor cases. Grit blasts, cleans and paints motor cases. 

Performs soldering operations, installs wiring, pressure tests, bonds, assembles, and packages parts. 

Cleans and assembles equipment, cleans tools, parts, and work area. 

Maintains records related to rocket manufacture. 

Maintains work area in a neat, safe, and orderly condition. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.


TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS:


High school graduate or equivalent.

Trainee or equivalent. 


WORKING CONDITIONS (Environmental, Physical & Safety):


Work environment may be controlled with or without humidity control. Exposure and risk to health is minimal. 

Work performed on all 3 shifts, normally five days a week, but overtime during the week and weekends is mandatory when required. Various types and configurations of automatic, semi­automatic and manually operated equipment are used.

Lifting requirement is moderate (30 pounds).


ASSEMBLER 2:


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):

Performs all duties and task required to assemble and prepare for shipment products made by Aerojet. 

Mixes or processes energetic materials. May perform soldering operations. 

Installs wiring, pressure tests, bonds, assembles, and packages parts. 

Maintains records for manufactured products. 

Works safely while producing a high-quality product and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. 

Performs other duties as assigned.


TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or equivalent. 

Must have 1 year of experience as Assembler 1 or equivalent experience in the production of energetic materials and/or related products.

ASSEMBLER 3:


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):

Produces solid propellant and assembles rocket motors by active participation in production and through leadership of Assemblers under his/her leadership. 

Performs all the duties of an Assembler and, in addition, trains and assigns work to other Assemblers. 

May also perform same duties in inert manufacturing areas. 

Assigns specific tasks, interprets procedures, reviews work and resolves problems for Assemblers. 

Cleans and assembles equipment. Cleans tools, parts and work area.

Weighs propellant ingredients, mixes, casts and extrudes propellant and machines propellant. 

Applies propellant inhibitors, sand blasts and paints parts. 

Solders wiring, induction welds, drills and taps, pressure tests, bonds, assembles and packages parts. 

Withdraws materials, ensuring that they are correct in all ways; returns unused material to stock. 

Conducts government and Aerojet inventories as required.


TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or equivalent. Must have eighteen months of experience in the

production of energetic materials.
