JOB TITLE: Group Home Direct Care Staff
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires experience in working with Developmentally Disabled Adults. A certified nursing assistant is preferred. At least two years experience in home health or other type of residential care.
JOB SUMMARY The Group Home direct care staff works under the direction of the Group Home Assistant Manager. He/she is responsible for general cleaning of the group home and care of residents. He/she will provide assistance to the residents as directed by the Group Home Manager. This position is for care of the residents at the Group Home. He/she will provide supervision to the residents in planned activities at the direction of the Group Home Manager.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Shall maintain the group home in compliance with DDS standards at all time with training.
2. Will be responsible to provide documentation of activities with residents and any personal care services provided.
3. Will report any suspected abuse and misconduct by staff or residents.
4. Shall document any incidents in accordance with DDS standards.
5. Assist residents in learning life skills needed for daily living.
6. Will have knowledge of all Health Department requirements for preparing and storing food. Will follow all menus established by the dietician and follow procedures for substitutions.
7. Will work as a team player.
8. Will maintain written/electronic records i.e. daily case notes, incident reports, medicine charts, and physical overview charts.
9. The Group Home staff assistant will notify the Manager, or Executive Director of any emergency situations that may arise.
10. He/she may be required to fill in other shifts as needed.
11. Other duties as assigned by the Group Home Manager
