Hiring now! Reliable and well-rounded warehouse associate who is ready to join a growing industry! This is a great opportunity for a candidate who wants to learn all aspects of operations within a successful warehouse and has some equipment experience, like forklift, EPJ, sweeper and scrubber. (No certifications required.)

 

The General Warehouse/Utility Associate is responsible for performing various basic tasks throughout the warehouse as needed. This position will expose the associate to various tasks within the warehouse. Position will maintain housekeeping and safety practices through monitoring and removing trash and debris from inside and outside of the facility to include inbound trucks and railcars. Additional areas may include bale lines and trash compactors. Associate will be responsible for moving and placing dunnage and packaging materials in outbound containers per shipping instructions to ensure no shifting of cargo is experienced during travel. Must ensure adequate levels of pallets and corrugated supplies are available at assigned areas throughout the warehouse and day. The right candidate will be trainable with minimal effort and will be expected to cross train in other functions within the warehouse to be eligible for promotion and advancement. (The General Warehouse / Utility Plus is certified to use equipment such as a sweeper, scrubber, and forklift.)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All janitorial duties within the warehouse, yard and office areas as directed. These duties include, but not limited to sweeping, moping, picking up dunnage and debris from the warehouse floor, dumping and sanitizing trash cans.

  • Responsible for cleaning and removing hazards and debris from rail cars, containers, and other equipment.

  • Responsible for keeping supply levels in the proper areas for efficiencies and safety.

  • Ability to perform simple maintenance items when requested within the warehouse and yard.

  • Must be able to assist and rig lifting equipment to perform various tasks when lifting break bulk commodities.

  • Must be able to operate tools to include, but not limited to hand and pneumatic bander, tensioner, hammer, crowbar, hand and electric saws, air compressor and other various tools.

  • Must be able to hand stack, load and unload various freight types such as lumber, cartons, bags, totes, etc.

  • Must be capable of installing air bags properly with air compressor and install blocking and bracing.

  • Comply with all company rules, policies, and procedures. Work and behave safely by following all safety rules and regulations.

  • Perform any task required to support customer requirements and company goals.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is required to ask for assistance from co-workers, Supervisors or Management when lifting and/or moving any object, regardless of weight, where personal injury may occur. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Large temperature fluctuations in the facility are common and change seasonally.

  • Schedules: Must be willing to work all shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to work overtime when the workload dictates.

 

Starting pay is $14 per hour.
