Position: Welder   

 

Pay Rate/Range: DOE to 19.15 per hour + 1 shift Differential for 2nd shift  

 

Description: Assemble, fit up, and weld metal by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment according to required specifications of a specific product line in a custom air handler manufacturing organization. perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately weld products. Fabricates structures using cutting and welding techniques and equipment. Utilize handheld tools such as grinders and plasma torches. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Lift and position raw materials Complete necessary paperwork or checklists Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Setup and adjust welding machine for metals of various sizes and thickness. Other duties as assigned. Adaptability/Flexibility – Adapts to changes, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, adjusts plans to meet changing needs. communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills. Dependability - Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements. Productivity – Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, handles information flow. Sense of Urgency – Prioritizes well, shows energy, reacts to opportunities, instills urgency in others, meets deadlines. Work Environment / Safety - Promotes mutual respect, keeps workplace clean and safe, supports safety programs. 


Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred. Welding experience preferred. Crane certification, preferred. Hot work certification, preferred Ability to open and view PDF documents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented and ability to adapt to a variety of issues that require prompt and efficient resolutions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Job Type:  contract to hire or temporary  

 

Shift/Schedule: 1st shift Welder 10-hour shift, Mon-Thu (possible Fri & Sat). - 6am to 4:30PM Monday - Thursday Mandatory overtime Friday & Saturday  

2nd shift Welder 10-hour shift, Mon-Thu (possible Fri & Sat). – 2:30PM to 1AM 2nd shift must train on 1st shift (6:00am – 4:30pm) for 3-4 weeks first, they will still be paid the 2nd shift rate while in training
