Position:  2nd Shift Brake Press Operator


Pay Rate/Range: $16-$18 hour DOE


Description:


Works in the production of heat exchanger fabrication (ASME pressure vessels) from carbon steel, stainless steel & nickel alloys.  The Brake Operator position will load, unload, operate machines, perform quality procedures, and keep shop clean as directed.  Employees are expected to support the company’s core values, safety, quality and attendance initiatives that help ensure we meet all our commitments to our customers. As part of the team, you will be expected to:

  • Conducts self in a considerate, professional, cooperative, and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Follows all company-wide safety policies and requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload material in machines
  • Load and unload trucks using fork-lifts and cranes
  • Stage material for production in accordance with production schedule.
  • Accurately records data on quality documentation, components, and product per company standards and/or customer requirements
  • Participates in the team’s continuous improvement and development in accordance with the Production System (PS). Examples include 5S, Problem resolution process (PRP), and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
  • When needed support team members with immediate problem solving
  • Organize, and clean workstation daily in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain a strong personal commitment to the safety culture. When needed, support team members with immediate problem solving
  • Assists Lead or Supervisor with various tasks as needed.
  • Cross-trains in other areas/departments as needed.
  • Assists Team Leader or Manager with training of new employees.
  • Responsible to maintain a clean work area daily and at the end of each work shift.


Job Requirements:  


High School or GED equivalent. Candidates interested in company-sponsored GED program will be considered.  You will have a respectful approach to working with others and prior experience with the following: 

  • 3 years minimum experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Must have knowledge of industrial paint applications
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, fork-lift use, and crane use are desired.  
  • Ability to use pneumatic and electric tools such as impact wrenches, and grinders
  • Must be able to pass certification for fork-lifts and cranes
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently (self-directed) and with others as part of a team.
  • Must be capable to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion


Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment and/or motor vehicle use). Lifting raw materials, assemblies, and equipment using lifts, or manually up to 50 lbs. Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure): Requires Steel Toed Boots.


Job Type:  Contract to Hire


Shift/Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2nd Shift 5pm-3:30am plus required Friday OT half days
