1st shift Material Handler Pay $16 per hour The CP Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for picking, staging, and delivering materials for/to production. Must be able to lift/Carry, squat/kneel bend crawl climb up to 40+ pounds. This position has been deemed “Safety Sensitive” as defined by the company’s Substance/Alcohol Policy. Work environment is a warehouse requiring steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection. This environment includes forklift traffic and the moving of heavy parts. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. The employee may be exposed to a variety of temperatures due to (Indoors and Outdoors) seasonal conditions. This is a safety sensitive position NO MMC cards accepted. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Accurately locate, process move, and stage component parts for consumption in production • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or parts to be moved • Operates industrial truck or electric pallet-jack to assist in moving or staging materials and parts • Occasionally operate electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies Supervisor for repair • Ensure that duties are accurately completed in a timely manner • Ensure the quality of the parts and /or material • Ensure the accuracy of inventory, location, quantity, and usability of product • Label all picks, production and shipment, with proper identification of purpose • Maximize use of available resources including RF and ADC equipment • Compiles records of unfilled orders • Report all non-conforming activities and product to management • Practice good housekeeping at all times POSITION QUALIFICATIONS • Teamwork – Meets all team deadlines and responsibilities, listens to others and values opinions, helps team leader to meet goals, welcomes newcomers and promotes a team atmosphere • Productivity – Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, handles information flow • Adaptability/Flexibility – Adapts to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, adjusts plans to meet changing needs • Dependability – Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, meet attendance/punctuality requirements • Self-Development – Seeks out and accepts feedback, is a proactive learner, takes on tough assignments to improve skills, keeps knowledge and skills up-to-date, turns mistakes into learning opportunities • Work Environment/Safety – Promotes mutual respect, keeps workplace clean and safe, supports safety programs SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 1-3 years of warehouse experience is preferred. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with familiarity of AS400 software. Certificates & Licenses: Must be certified in Company’s Powered Vehicle Operators certification program. Must also complete and pass the Warehouse/Inventory Management Class within 2 classes. Other Requirements: Knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S is preferred. Entry: Entry level operator - Certified forklift driver - Level 1: * Certified Forklift driver * Trained and proficient on pulling 5 products / 15-29 on skills matrix * Trained and proficient on 1 line support item Process - Send resume over to Scott to review and he will schedule interview time.
