POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Research, Develop and Implement innovative automation technologies into production lines to improve
teammate safety, quality, and throughput throughout the plant and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A summary of the essential functions of the position includes but are not limited to the following:
1. Evaluate competitive processes and use the information to improve our existing products and
processes.
2. Use Lean 6 principles to identify continuous improvement in safety, quality, capability, efficiency,
and cost within the plant.
3. Plan and execute Automation Projects as project lead or team member for current manufacturing
processes at including PLCs equipment and robotic cells.
4. Develop and meet project timelines.
5. Conduct project documentation and technical reviews with Technical teams.
6. Analyze engineering drawings and data.
7. Create and Update programs using teaching method and offline software for existing and new
Automated Equipment within the plant including but not limited to 7 axis Yaskawa Robotic
trim/drill cell, 3 axis and 5 axis CNC.
8. Support production team with Tooling requirements such as but not limited to automated trim/drill
fixtures, drill bits, router bits and others to operate Automated Robotic Cells.
9. Work with the Research team on new technologies and automation projects to improve quality
and efficiency on current manufacturing processes.
10. Develop work instructions for production of custom or transportation products and provide
training towards implementation.
11. Awareness and understanding of their role and responsibilities with all applicable environmental
and safety plans, policies and procedures.
12. Interface with production teammates, supervisors, engineering, and quality teams in
determination of process requirements and areas of improvements.
13. Support communications with customers on resolution of products claims regarding quality issues
that involves automated processes.
14. Provide input on need for budget related items i.e., equipment, tools, etc.
15. Be available and willing to assist outside of normal business hours during times of
programming/troubleshooting related emergencies.
16. Work closely to Maintenance team to resolve automated equipment related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Preferably Bachelors in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems
Engineering or equivalent proven work experience. Motoman / Yaskawa Robot DX 200 Training or
equivalent preferred. CAD/CAM Solidworks experience with modeling and assembly. AutoCAD
drafting training preferred
