Position Overview: Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality control for the manufacturing of products under general supervision. Must be familiar with ASME Section VIII and IX and willing to learn the code requirements/inspection points. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Performs a variety of tasks. Essential Job Functions: ? Conducts testing on product in accordance with established codes and customer requirements. Verifies air tests and hydro tests of Firetubes/Vessels/Pipe/completed units. ? Measures and visually verifies dimensions and physical appearance of in process and completed product to ensure adherence to customer specifications. May be performing QC inspection hold points for layouts, fitups, internal checks, and final inspections of all units that are built in the shop as needed. ? Coordinates with subcontracted and customer inspectors regarding projects. ? Consults with customer and other authorized inspectors to review work in process. ? Reviewing shop drawings for any issues that may arise. ? Completing the ASME documentation for all vessels that are built as they go through the shop. This also may include tracking heat codes for all heads/Shells/flanges, and other pressure vessel parts for ASME records. ? Review documentation of all incoming material to ensure material meets customer requirements as needed. ? Verifying that all X-ray and other NDE that is required has been performed. ? Provides technical and informational supports to other company departments upon request. ? Willing to learn how to conduct and witness weld tests that are given to new hire candidates as well as current Cimarron welders. This also includes preparing the test coupons for the welding test. ? Checking material/outsourced equipment that is received in for defects/flaws. This may also include using a UT thickness gauge to check the thickness of material for accuracy. ? Verifying that all material coming in the shop has been painted or marked correctly based on the grade. ? Stamping code nameplates for ASME code vessels that are built in the shop as needed. ? Verifying that all slag, BBs, and defects have been removed from all equipment that is built. ? Making sure that all welders are qualified for the welding process that they are using and they are using the correct welding procedure. ? Performing PT tests to identify cracking when needed. ? Preparing units to be shipped to customer and ensuring that the units are shipped out without issues. ? Assisting all employees that may need help with Quality or other tasks without being told to. ? May also perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Basic Qualifications: ? 2-3 years minimum of related work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. ? Experience working with ASME Section VIII, and IX, Division 1. ? Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written. ? Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to function as a strong team player. ? Must have a desire to continually grow, be willing to continually learn, and seek out training opportunities. ? Must be dependable, highly motivated, and self-directed; able to work effectively with little supervision. ? Must be process oriented, able to prioritize, organize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously. ? Must be able to work hours beyond the standard work week schedule when needed. Ability to work in an uncontrolled climate environment (heat, cold, and humidity) ? Ability to lift up to 50 pounds following safety procedures. ? Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. ? Must be physically able to meet post offer testing requirements.
