Machine Shop Super Critical/challenging role helping innovation/meeting our commitments by planning, directing/coordinating work activities/resources, people, & equipment, for machining products in cost, quality, quantity, & delivery. Responsibilities - Develop, coordinate, implement, & report production schedules/activities of machine shop. Review schedule/production orders make decisions concerning tooling/raw material inventory requirements, staffing needs, work procedures, & duty assignments with budgetary limitations/time constraints. Develop/optimize machine shop work process to streamline production while complete compliance w/HSE/OSHA policies/practices.Develop/implement production tracking/sustain quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, & other operational reports, to detect, anticipate, & pro-actively solve production problems. Maximize machine utilization/on-time performance. Hire, train, evaluate, discharge staff, & resolve employee relations issues with Operations Manager /HR. Duties/Responsibilities Recommendations with the goal of reducing machine setup & processing time, and/or increasing Safety, & acquisition of equipment. Familiar accounting/manufacturing software & incorporate software into machine shop processes from purchase of raw material to finished components, manufacturing theory Lean and/or Six Sigma & how theory may be adapted to our operation. Coordinate/recommend procedures facility/equipment maintenance & modification, including replacement of machines. Operations leadership develop/monitor operational budget participate in cost reduction. Research/Development activities as needed & effectively/efficiently use time to safely perform duties. Complete all paperwork in required manner/time frame. Learn to produce new products, use new procedures, & embrace/support change. Knowledge, Skills - machining processes/procedures, establish/maintain working relationships w/people. Communicate all levels of company personnel, vendors/customers. Strong problem-solving/business acumen skills, Coaching Training skills, obtain/maintain demonstrated knowledge of product lines/valve industry standards. Read engineering drawings. Knowledge of principles of Inventory Control, proficiency MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, establish/maintain constructive working relationships with people. Strong problem-solving/analysis skills. Multiple tasks/projects daily fast-paced manufacturing environment. Speak, write/read English. Work independently/part of team on broad variety of projects. Work additional hours to meet tight deadlines. Qualification Requirements - HS Diploma, GED or equivalent. (5) years direct machine shop management experience. Must obtain/maintain active Level 2 certification to operate Class IV forklifts/train others as forklift Operators. Obtain/maintain active certification to operate crane & train crane Operators. Obtain/maintain Authorized Driver status defined Company Vehicles Drivers policy. Physical Requirements - Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Extended walking, sitting, and/or standing. Tools/Equipment Used - Computer equipment include laptop, monitors, keyboard, mouse, scanner, printer, designated software programs include ERP, project time tracking software, employee time tracking software/office productivity software packages. CNC Machining equipment such as lathes, mills, saws, various hand/power tools include air/hydraulic torque/sanding tools. Use of manual machining equipment lathes/mills, overhead cranes & other lifting devices including but not limited to 1/2-ton cranes, 1-ton cranes, 5-ton cranes, rigging, Class IV forklifts, drive company vehicles/personal vehicles for business purposes. Quality/Customer Service Implications - Active OHSE programs Immediately/directly impact quality product through direct oversight/supervision of machine shop employees & machining processes/setups. Impact customer satisfaction through component quality, appearance, fit, & on-time delivery.
