Position: Fabrication Technician


Pay Rate/Range: $15 to $18


Description: Maintain locate and organize raw materials through all areas of the fabrication/Weld shop per schedule and bill of materials (BOM). The fabricator should possess the ability to read, and comprehend blueprints and manufacturing instructions. The ability to safely operate plasma table, band saw, brake press and blast booth. Other duties may be assigned. 


Job Requirements: Read and comprehend blueprints, manufacturing instructions and Bill of Materials (BOM). Follow production schedule. Verify all correct material per BOM. Ability to safely operate brake press, band-saw, plasma table and blast booth. Ability to understand tank prep operation including pressure test and prep for paint. Must be able to safely operate various hand & power tools. Read and understand tape measures variances up to 1/16 and the ability to convert to decimals .0625. Safely operate crane and pallet jack/fork lift. Follow direction; maintain focus and a positive attitude. Competent in required job skills and knowledge; exhibits ability to learn & apply new skills; keeps abreast of current developments; requires minimal supervision; displays understanding of how job relates to others; uses resources effectively. Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to employees within the organization. Ability to add, subtract, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply common sense to practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Individual shall have basic computer knowledge. Physical Demands - regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment - employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions nd fumes or airborne particles. Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. Noise level is usually moderate.


Job Type: Contract-to-Hire


Shift/Schedule: 1st or 3rd shift available 4 10-hour days, 2 8-hour days required weekly 56+ hours weekly 

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2 years or more in manufacturing or relevant work experience
