Sheet Metal Bench Operator (Hand-finish Blender)

Job Title: Level2/3 Sheet Metal Bench Operator (Aerospace Hand-finish Blender)

2ndShift - (M-F 2:00pm - 10:30pm)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

$24-30/hr. DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Experience using a Pencil Grinder is a must!

*Must have Experience doing repair work within the aerospace industry

-Operate Press Brakes, Single Stroke punch presses, multi-station drill machines, saws, notchers, air-powered grinders, drill motors, and hand tools to fabricate, straighten, and adjust detail parts and complex assemblies as per drawings and work instructions.

• -Observe machine or process operation and measure parts according to instructions using defined inspection media.
• -Stop machine or process and notify supervisor if parts do not conform to specifications.
• -Adjust machine and tool settings under minimal supervision to achieve specified results.
• -Perform work in all areas of the shop as designated by supervision on an as-needed basis.
• -Maintain a clean work area following 5S methodologies.

-Ability to work with a low to moderate degree of supervision

-Identifies problems and all relevant issues and has the ability to assess each and make sound decisions

Education and Experience:

• -High School diploma or GED
• -Minimum 2-5 years of demonstrated experience
• -Acceptable interpretation of drawings and work orders as demonstrated at a job interview.
• -Minimum vision requirements: Near and far vision of 20/30 in both eyes (corrected).
• -Manual dexterity to handle small delicate parts and handheld standard measuring equipment simultaneously.

Usage of the following tools:

-Height gages; Digital Calipers; Pi tape; Micrometers; Polishing/Deburr; Bench Grinder; Bead Blaster; Disc Sander; Belt Sander; Kick Press; Arbor Press; Omera; Stripit; Auto Roller; Hand Roller; Rivet Machine;

• Physical Demands:
• -Employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, use hands
• -The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• -The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals. 
• -The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• -Must be able to lift and or move up to 50lbs.
• -Ability to drive and operate a Forklift.
