Construction Estimator
Single-Family & Multifamily Residential Projects
Houston, Texas | Nationwide Project Exposure
We’re partnering with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial real estate development and construction firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. This team doesn’t just build — they develop, design, and deliver residential communities from the ground up, managing the full lifecycle from land acquisition to final handoff.
With projects spanning single-family homes and large-scale multifamily developments, this company prides itself on a hands-on, detail-driven approach to cost control, quality, and execution across multiple U.S. markets.
If you’re an estimator who loves being close to the numbers and the people behind the work — this one’s for you.
About the Role
As the Construction Estimator, you’ll be a key player in shaping project success from day one. You’ll own the estimating and cost-control process — from detailed take-offs to subcontractor negotiations — while partnering closely with leadership to ensure projects are priced accurately, sourced smartly, and built efficiently.
This is a role for someone who enjoys thinking strategically, negotiating confidently, and driving real cost savings without sacrificing quality.
What You’ll Be Doing
Perform detailed quantity take-offs for materials and labor (tile, roofing, drywall, finishes, and more)
Prepare and manage project estimates, budgets, and purchase orders alongside PMs and leadership
Negotiate pricing and terms with subcontractors and suppliers to maximize value and scalability
Build and maintain a robust cost and vendor performance database to improve future estimates
Partner with design and construction teams to align specs, budgets, and build standards
Analyze bids, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and present recommendations directly to executive leadership
Occasionally travel to new or expanding markets (Texas, Florida, and beyond) to develop vendor relationships and gather market intelligence
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in construction estimating, cost analysis, or residential project management
Proven experience estimating single-family and multifamily residential projects
Strong negotiation skills with subcontractors and vendors — you know how to protect margins
Proficiency with estimating or construction management software (Procore, Sage, or similar)
Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and sequencing
Ability to work independently, juggle multiple projects, and communicate clearly with all stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required if backed by strong hands-on experience
Compensation
70,000-130,000 annually base plus pay plus full benefits
(Commensurate with experience, project background, and professional references)
