Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.

Education

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Mandatory Experience Required (No Exceptions)

· 2 or more years’ experience as a Sr. Safety Coordinator in construction and/or manufacturing environments leading safety compliance

Competencies

· Excellent interpersonal and organizational capabilities

· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload

· Working knowledge of federal and state regulations including but not limited to OSHA and DOT regulations

· Proficient in Microsoft applications

· Must possess at least one of the following Safety Certifications: CSP, ASP, SMS, OHST, CHST, STS, STSC, CET

  • SafeLand and H2S certifications are most important

Other Requirements

· Current & valid Driver’s License with ability to provide own transportation to multiple jobsites throughout the state of Texas

· Ability to travel nationally as needed

Position Summary:

· Develop a practical analysis of safety issues, along with recommendations for remediation of problems using the same methodologies and standards employed by OSHA,

· Perform & record onsite job safety inspections consisting of pictures and regulations & recommendations in report form

· Perform Job safety analysis (JSA) to help integrate accepted safety and health principles and practices into a particular task or job operation.

· Develop written Lockout / Tagout & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures.

· Maintain records in compliance with current OSHA & DOT recordkeeping standards.

· Develop and implement safety procedures and guidelines.

· Develop written safety programs.

· Maintain updated Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records for customers as assigned.

· Ensure compliance of all Health and Safety programs.

· Maintain OSHA 300 logs compliant with current standards.

· Investigate and review accidents and incidents which occur along with assisting with reporting the corrective actions

· Contribute and implement Safety Training Plans

· Coordinate and present training programs in general safety and facility training and/or specialty area

· Coordinate with customer representatives on facility deficiencies and periodic safety inspections

· Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected

· Maintain and update as needed SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training

· Maintain filing systems regarding training and safety

· Monitor industry regulatory issues

· Participate in the development of safety guidelines and related occupational safety communications and educational information

· Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company

· Provide advice, assist, and management to ensure that effective safety is implemented and working

· Perform other related duties as assigned
