Beyond TalentEdge has a direct hire opportunity for a Security Systems Technician – Fire Tech Experience Required. Our client is state-of-the-art commercial security systems and solutions company.
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fire Alarm Systems Technician to maintain, repair, and replace fire alarm systems and related equipment. The technician will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through effective collaboration, technical expertise, and adherence to relevant codes and standards.
Responsibilities:

Fire Alarm System Maintenance: Keep fire alarm systems and related equipment in top shape by repairing, replacing, or maintaining them according to blueprints and building plans, both on-site and remotely.

Expert Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve any system problems or failures efficiently.

Device Installation: Skillfully mount and secure control panels, card readers, sensors, and video cameras while connecting all necessary electrical, telephone, and network wiring.

Customer Collaboration: Work closely with staff to deliver excellent customer proposals, ensuring continuous satisfaction through seamless installation and ongoing maintenance.

Manufacturer Support Liaison: Collaborate with technical support from manufacturers to resolve issues and improve system performance.

Circuit Testing and Repair: Follow wiring and system specifications to test and repair circuits and sensors effectively.

Security Feature Assurance: Regularly test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and other security features to ensure proper functionality and reliable communication with monitoring stations.

Site Inspection and Planning: Assess installation sites, review work orders, and study building plans and manuals to determine material needs and installation procedures.

Code Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant codes and standard practices.

Operational Procedure Adherence: Follow established procedures to resolve or escalate issues promptly.

Efficient Documentation: Complete work order paperwork, expense reports, and other necessary documents in a timely manner.

Effective Communication: Keep managers and supervisors updated with job status details, problems, potential issues, and other essential information.

Internal and External Liaison: Serve as a communication bridge for internal and external departments as required.

Technical Customer Interaction: Engage with customers on technical matters when necessary, providing clear and helpful explanations.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Certifications in Bosch, or other system software are preferred.

OSHA 10 certification.

Valid New York State driver’s license with a good driving record.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fire alarm services industry.

Proven results in mentoring others within this field.
Salary:
$26.00 - $36.00 per hour
