Job Summary
As a senior estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for complex construction projects, focusing on Infrastructure, Facility Construction, Renewable Energy and Process Piping. This role requires in-depth industry knowledge, advanced analytical skills and the ability to lead estimating teams.
Senior Estimator Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project details and requirements, writing workplans.

Identify potential risks and opportunities within projects and factor those into estimates.

Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to management and clients.

Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and estimating techniques.

Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.

Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather crucial project information.

Utilize and maintain proficiency in industry-standard estimating software.

Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and industry regulations.

Identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.

Lead and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance on complex estimating tasks.
Senior Estimator Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating

Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.

Construction Estimating - 7+ years.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred Education

Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or related field degree.
Desired Skills and Certifications

Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) from the American Society of Professional Estimators

Certified Cost Professional (CPP) from AACE International
-
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
-
Proficiency in estimating software such as Heavy Bid, Bid2win, Bluebeam, Procore, Sage Estimating or PlanSwift

Familiarity with Primavera P6 software.
