Pay: $89,000.00 - $111,300.00 per year, depending on experience

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm

About this Opportunity:

The Manufacturing Engineer lll - NPD/NPI will be primarily responsible for leading the development and deployment of manufacturing processes for NPD - new product design, NPI - new product introduction, and prototype parts by planning, overseeing, and executing builds of tools, equipment, and product. Other responsibilities include implementation of improvements including cost, manufacturability, and quality goals by researching, testing, and recommending equipment and processes to enable growth and remain competitive within the industry. Provide direction and support once products are deployed into production including support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area to optimize existing processes and to ensure that production goals are met. This position is for a leading contract manufacturer of precision components and assemblies for the medical device industry.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Initiate and complete technical development activities for prototypes and new products
• Collaborate directly with customers on development activities, participate in quoting and manage awarded jobs on time and within budget - Hands on position to design, develop, and validate manufacturing processes
• Work with customers on designing for manufacturability
• Identify suitable process technologies and methods that can be qualified & scaled to production volumes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; ability to design tooling and fixtures in 3D CAD Software
• Coordinate fabrication and implementation of process fixturing or gauging
• Interface with quality and manufacturing to integrate new products or processes into production to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company
• Develop and approve device routers, manufacturing procedures, and bill of materials
• Monitor performance of equipment, machines, and tools and correct equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields, or product quality issues
• Resolve non-conformances and participate on Material Review Board
• Analyze and map processes, assess efficiency, and implement complex project activities
• Mentor Engineer I, II, and Technicians
• Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
• Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
• Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
• Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly

 

What makes you a great fit:

• Bachelors Degree in Related Engineering Field
• 5+ years of engineering experience preferably in a manufacturing setting; including state-of-the-art manufacturing technology/concepts
• Experience with 3D CAD Software (i.e. Solidworks)
• Team dynamic skills (communication, accountability, decision-making, feedback, meeting management)
• DOE, SPC, FMEA, GDP, QSR, GD&T
• Experience with statistical software (i.e. Minitab, Excel SPC, etc.); Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to prioritize and multitask
• High level of energy, personal accountability, and integrity; ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Highly detail oriented; checks own work, keeps accurate records, organizes data effectively
• Ability to tolerate ambiguity, multiple priorities, and short deadlines

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in an ISO13485/GMP environment and Laser/Laser processing
• Experience with CNC systems including programming, operating, and G-Code
• Knowledge of Metal and Polymer processing techniques; fundamental understanding of the properties and behaviors of Nitinol
• Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes including design for manufacturability
• Leadership experience and project management experience
