Now Hiring: Machine Set-up (Heat Treat)

Location: Saint Paul, MNShift: 2:00 PM –10:30pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: $27.85/hr

Employment Type: Full time, trial to hire!

About this Opportunity: In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills in Machine Setup to advance your career with a growing, employee-owned manufacturer. You will set up and operate grinding machines used in the manufacturing of twist drill bits. Other responsibilities include grinding internal and external surfaces of metal workpieces to meet ordered specifications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Interpret blueprints and job cards for product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and quantity of parts to produce

• Install necessary parts on machines to ensure proper functioning

• Set machine controls to specified grinding speeds, feed rates, and wheel angles

• Verify dimensions of finished workpieces for quality and conformity to specifications

• Troubleshoot and maintain efficient operations of machines to ensure maximum productivity

• Assist in operations of all machines as needed

• Complete necessary paperwork and inventory input to maintain proper documentation

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Participate in continual improvement programs

What makes you a great fit:

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/procedural manuals, and department guides

• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measurement)

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance

• Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify required maintenance

• Ability to identify complex problems and develop solutions

• Availability to work full time (40 hours/week) on 2nd or 3rd shift and meet attendance requirements

•  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Manual dexterity to handle drill bits

• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and verify quality

• Must satisfactorily perform a physical assessment to confirm ability to perform essential job functions
