Job Summary
We are looking to hire a CNC Lathe Setup Operator for a growing manufacturing company in Wood Dale. This is a hands-on role focused entirely on CNC lathe setup and operation in a high-precision environment. Ideal candidates have strong setup experience, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust during production runs.
Key Responsibilities

Set up CNC lathes, including tooling, fixturing, and workholding

Verify material alignment and ensure setup accuracy

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job travelers

Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges

Adjust offsets for part consistency and quality

Monitor equipment and address mechanical issues

Maintain accurate documentation of setups and run logs

Support a safe and clean work environment

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years of experience setting up and running CNC lathes

Strong mechanical aptitude and blueprint reading skills

Proficiency with inspection tools

Experience with metals and/or plastics

Ability to work independently and solve mechanical issues
