A renowned food company in Battle Creek is actively seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to join their team. These are Direct Hire positions with competitive pay ranging from $32 to $44 per hour, depending on skills and experience. We are currently recruiting for off shits, offering an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical work, including valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, and lubrication systems.
- Utilize the skills of an Industrial Electrician to read and comprehend electrical schematics, conducting installations, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs to facilities and production equipment up to 480 Volts, 3-Phase.
- Troubleshoot and re-wire high-speed equipment, such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, PLC I/O Modules, and servo motors.
- Possess a working knowledge of electrical control systems, safety circuits, and automation components, including inductive proximity sensors, photo eye sensors, and mechanical limit switches.
- Work flexible shifts and overtime as necessary, adapting to varying temperatures and climates.
- Independently or collaboratively repair and maintain equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
- Practice safe working habits, follow directions, and work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with boiler systems and ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Punctuality and ability to come to work on time daily.
- Ability to lift 60lb+ and perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, and twisting for 8-12 hours.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance-related field.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belt systems, motors, pumps, and other industrial machine components.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and high voltage electrical practices.
- Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Experience in the food industry is a plus.
