A Paper Mill in Constantine, MI, is actively seeking a Converting Supervisor to join their team. This is a Direct Hire position on the swing shift in a Union Shop, offering competitive starting pay between $75,000 and $95,000, along with comprehensive benefits.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE PAPER INDUSTRY AND HAVE WEB HANDLING EXPERIENCE AS WELL.
Responsibilities:
- Provide experienced supervision for 6 or more shift personnel, ensuring the continuous operation of manufacturing lines.
- Ensure the production of a quality product in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
- Respond to emergency issues as required and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Offer technical support to the manufacturing team, particularly with expertise in Web Handling and a background in the Paper Industry.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of employees and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement daily operations schedules to meet production, product standards, and operational cost goals.
- Oversee the operation of all prime machines on the respective shift and the entire plant during off-shifts, assisting operators to maintain production.
- Input and review production inventory in the database for accurate reporting to finance.
- Implement employee schedules as per Converting Superintendent's directives, adjusting as necessary with appropriate documentation.
- Support the training of hourly shift employees and provide coaching, motivation, and discipline as needed.
- Document and communicate issues to the Converting Superintendent and Human Resources.
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with the Maintenance department.
- Compose necessary paperwork/documentation in collaboration with the Converting Superintendent, covering employee evaluations, time & attendance, downtime reports, absenteeism reports, and accident reports.
- Protect company property, address emergencies promptly, and ensure good housekeeping throughout the facility.
- Treat others with dignity and respect, setting an example by adhering to all time and attendance rules.
- Attend scheduled company meetings and trainings, participating in Safety Committee, First Responder, and other teams as required.
- Be available to work other shifts as needed to cover shortages and vacations.
