Electronic Assembly
Our client, a leader in the manufacture and distribution of electromechanical components and interconnect products, has an immediate opening for a Electronic Assembler for its headquarters located in the east metro Twin Cities area. This is a Contract-To-Hire opportunity (90 days)
1st shift 6:30am-3:00pm (Monday-Friday)
2nd shift - 3:00pm-11:30pm (Monday-Friday)
Pay rate: $12/HR
Job Purpose:
This position builds, tests, and adjusts electromechanical assemblies to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements. Assembles product by using applicable tools, equipment, and work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble/test wire harnesses and connectors. Perform visual or other inspection of components to ensure product quality. Participate in teams to continuously improve production processes or product quality. Perform manufacturing operations proficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Use and accurately read measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, steel rule, and multi-meters.

Perform light assembly, including small gauge wiring, soldering, packaging and miscellaneous Value Added modifications.

Follow Production Work packet process, to include all checks and tests to insure the end product is built to customer expectation and with a high level of quality.

Maintain accurate product counts and Work packet entries.

Perform packaging, labeling and paperwork routing per customers procedures.

Report problems and non-standard conditions to the Line Lead or Production Supervisor.

Performs other job duties and/or projects to meet business needs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-
Demonstrated ability to accurately assemble parts using prints, process sheets, specifications, etc.

Basic mathematical operations, including the use of fractions and decimals.
-
Ability to accurately read a ruler, and use caliper/micrometer.
-
Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures (SOPs), schematics, prints, and drawings.
-
Skill to accurately assemble components.

Ability to perform repetitive work.
-
Ability to learn various operations and equipment within the production floor and perform proficiently.

Must be able and flexible to rotate to other operations on the production floor or other areas as required.
Skill to perform inspections.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from manager or lead.

Qualifications: Minimum
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer experience.
-
Math skills including the ability to solve fractions, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication problems.

Ability to work with others collaboratively.

Strong organizational skills.

Good communication skills.
Preferred:

Ability to troubleshoot for process problems.

Familiar with RoHS and non-RoHS materials.

Familiar with IPC 620 and quality standards.

Familiar with ISO 9001.

Familiar with an ERP system.

Good understanding of electro-mechanical devices and possess a mechanical aptitude.

Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience.

Soldering experience strongly desired.

Knowledge of wire harness and connector manufacturing process.

Experience operating automated machinery i.e.: Komax, Kodera, etc.
Physical Requirements/Capabilities:

Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and the ability to talk and hear.

Ability to frequently sit for prolonged amounts of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop or bend, push, pull, kneel, and crouch.

Good hand eye coordination, good hand dexterity and strength.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and discern colors.
