Temporary Paralegal – Public Entity Experience Preferred
Location: North Port, FL
Pay:$28.20/hr
Duration: 6–8 Weeks
We’re seeking an experienced Paralegal to join the City Attorney’s Office on a temporary basis. This role involves advanced legal support on a variety of civil law, transactional, and municipal legal matters. The ideal candidate will have experience working with public entities and be skilled in managing deadlines, drafting legal documents, and supporting attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and revise contracts, resolutions, and ordinances for attorney review
Prepare and e-file legal documents
Serve as liaison between attorneys and clients
Monitor ongoing litigation, manage case files, and maintain databases
Conduct legal research using Westlaw or similar tools
Support multiple deadlines and priorities with strong organization
Qualifications:
Graduation from an ABA-approved paralegal/legal assistant program and 5+ years of professional paralegal experience OR certified paralegal designation with equivalent experience (comparable training/experience may be considered)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and legal research software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court filing rules (state and federal)
Attention to detail, client service mindset, and critical thinking abilities
Preferred:
Experience working with city, county, or other public entities
About the Assignment:
Full-time hours, Monday–Friday
Office-based role supporting municipal legal operations
