The Priming Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities within the priming department, including equipment procurement, production development, employee supervision, and strategic business improvements. This role plays a key leadership function by driving operational efficiency, supporting priming production growth, and guiding department staff to meet organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Operations & Strategic Leadership

  • Implement, lead, and manage business activities.
  • Conduct negotiations for new priming plant equipment, as well as maintenance services, supplies, and vendor relationships.
  • Prepare proposals and contribute to decision-making regarding priming plant equipment investments for the U.S. operations.
  • Provide recommendations to the Board of Directors on strategies to enhance priming business performance within the U.S. market.

2. Employee Supervision & Production Oversight

  • Supervise and review job assignments of centerfire employees within the priming department.
  • Oversee priming production development and monitor performance improvements in collaboration with suppliers and customers.
  • Ensure all priming employees perform their duties efficiently and in alignment with company goals.
  • Supervise department heads in their business activities, including meetings with partner executives and key personnel.
  • Review status and progress reports from the priming production team and address any issues, inconsistencies, or anomalous results.
  • Lead departmental meetings, establish priorities, and assign tasks to priming personnel.

3. Talent Management, Hiring & Training

  • Interview prospective directors, managers, and other key employees for the company.
  • Determine salary, benefits, and compensation packages for priming department staff.
  • Provide training, coaching, and skill development to priming directors, managers, and employees to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years – 7 years of experience in ballistics and explosive testing, priming of small firearms ammunition, and quality control required.
  • Strong understanding of firearm mechanics and ammunition components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex ballistic or mechanical issues.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, oversee production operations, and coordinate with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze production data and make informed, strategic decisions.
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols, especially involving firearms, live ammunition, and controlled testing environments.
  • Background check and drug screen required upon offer of employment.
