The Ballistics Technician plays a key role in ensuring the precision, safety, and performance of small-firearms ammunition. This position requires at least five years of experience in ballistic testing, priming supervision, and quality control. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician with strong problem-solving abilities, hands-on technical expertise, and a passion for maintaining high manufacturing and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Job Duties:
- Perform inspections on machinery.
- Troubleshoot projectile performance issues.
- Evaluate test results for compliance.
- Oversee machine maintenance and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor inventories and report shortages.
- Oversee the manufacturing process for brass and bullets.
- Supervise packagers and inspectors in the Ballistics department.
- Provide training to junior machine operators.
- Directly supervise approximately 5 packagers and inspectors in the Ballistics Department.
- All other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ballistics and explosive testing, priming of small firearms ammunition, and quality control required.
- Strong understanding of firearm mechanics, ammunition components, and ballistic behavior.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex ballistic or mechanical issues.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols, especially involving firearms, live ammunition, and controlled testing environments.
- Background check and drug screen required upon offer of employment.
