We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality firearm components to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision machining, a strong understanding of GD&T, and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards. This is a full-time position with consistent weekday hours, and occasional overtime based on production demands.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision firearm components.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to accommodate different part designs and tolerances.
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Identify and correct any machining errors or inconsistencies.
- Maintain detailed records of measurements, adjustments, and production runs.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe handling of materials.
- Comply with industry regulations and company quality standards.
- Maintain an organized and efficient workspace to streamline production.
- Assist in refining workflows and optimizing machine operation processes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and quality.
- All other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining is a plus.
- Proven experience operating CNC machines, preferably in the firearm or precision manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with company drug-free workplace policies.
- Background check required upon offer of employment.
- The position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and metalworking processes.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with an hour lunch break /occasional overtime may be required based on production needs
