The Lube Technician is responsible for performing basic vehicle maintenance services in a timely and efficient manner. This includes oil changes, fluid checks and refills, tire rotations, and vehicle inspection. A Lube Tech supports the service team by identifying potential mechanical issues and ensuring customer vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
General Job Tasks & Duties:
- Perform oil and filter changes on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Check and top off all vehicle fluids (transmission, brake, coolant, windshield washer, etc.)
- Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, and wiper blades
- Rotate, inspect, and inflate tires to the proper pressure
- Lubricate chassis, suspension, and driveline components when applicable
- Conduct multi-point inspections and report findings to the service advisor or lead technician
- Identify signs of wear, leaks, or mechanical issues and communicate them effectively
- Ensure all maintenance is performed according to the manufacturer's specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Properly dispose of used oil, filters, and other waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations
- Keep track of tools and equipment, and report any damage or loss
- Occasionally assist with customer questions under the supervision of the service advisor
- Treat all customers and co-workers with respect and professionalism
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Basic mechanical knowledge or previous experience as a Lube Tech is preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic automotive equipment (e.g., lifts, torque wrenches, tire machines)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Lifting 50 pounds without assistance.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and in varying weather conditions.
Job Type: Full Time Monday – Thursday 8 am – 5 pm, Friday 8 am – 4 pm
Wage: $20.00/hr.
