We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to lead our construction projects with a commitment to excellence and safety. As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations on the job site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and labor teams, to coordinate activities and resources efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations. You will be responsible for monitoring construction progress and implementing any necessary management adjustments to achieve project milestones. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a positive working environment and maintaining effective communication among all team members, while also assuring compliance with safety protocols. General Expectations:

  • Supervises and maintains a safe and clean project.
  • Effectively lead field crews.
  • Perform as Project Manager if no Project Manager is assigned to project.
  • Develops and maintains rapport with subcontractors and clients.
  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive work environment and team player attitude by developing leadership qualities.
  • Cultivates a positive safety culture by demonstrating safe practices and holding in-house crew and subcontractors accountable.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews and understands complete project scope, documents, plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Assists PM to inspect and ensure quality workmanship per industry standards and contract documents.
  • Manages job site general conditions, temporary facilities, and utilities.
  • Develops and maintains good rapport with subcontractors and clients.
  • Holds pre-construction start-up meeting on-site with all subcontractors before the job starts.
  • Holds weekly safety meetings for crew and ensures subcontractors hold weekly safety meetings.
  • Develops and maintains a deficiency log for each project.
  • Performs at least weekly safety inspections per company safety procedures to ensure and enforce proper PPE and safety equipment are being used by all personnel on-site.
  • Ensures all construction is built per the contract, plans, and specifications.
  • Coordinates with PM and Foreman all project issues, changes, notices, change order requests, RFIs, etc.
  • Prepares daily reports of all activities, workers, inspections, etc. with photos in Buildertrend.
  • Communicates daily with PM to discuss progress and goals per 3-week look ahead.
  • Submits 3-week look ahead manpower request to PM.
  • Orders job progress inspections, material deliveries, locates, and testing in a timely manner.
  • Ensures company equipment, vehicles, and tools are clean, maintained, and utilized properly.
  • Calls off equipment when no longer needed.
  • Maintains As-Builts.
  • Signs T and M and material delivery tickets and note descriptions or cost codes of what each item is as required.
  • Manages tracking, photos, WOs, plans, files, etc.
  • Knows approved/denied submittals for all materials and maintains submittal binder on site.
  • Ensures job site is properly staffed before leaving. 
  • Completes all items on the punch list within 14 days.
  • Maintains equipment tool tracking on tool tracking app.
  • Reports any problems or disputes between crew.
  • Reports all accidents, including minor and near-miss incidents, immediately to direct supervisor and HR.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a construction Superintendent or in a similar role.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and inspire.
  • Background check and drug screen upon offer of employment.


Job Type: Full time

Wage: $80,000/yr DOE
