General Job Tasks & Duties:
- Collecting and processing blood, feces, urine, throat swabs, and nares swabs samples from patients with care and professionalism.
- Activating orders, running, and resulting CLIA Waived POC tests.
- Utilizing Cerner for laboratory orders, results, and messaging.
- Maintaining eyewash station, temperature logs, and laboratory test logs with timeliness and accuracy.
- Maintaining accurate records of all samples collected.
- Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality during procedures.
- Providing excellent patient care and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Following safety and infection control protocols at all times.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to improve patient experiences.
- All other job duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Certification in phlebotomy is required.
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain blood using vacutainer and butterfly needles.
- Background check required upon offer of employment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in medical environments.
- Compassionate demeanor and passion for patient care.
