A2Z Personnel is hiring immediately for an Ammunition Machine Operator for a local client in the Bitterroot Valley.  Ammunition Machine Operators do essential job duties with one of our premier clients. As an Ammunition Machine Operator, you will operate a specific station within the loading assembly line which produces assembled ammunition cartridges.

Duties: 

  • Safely operate ammunition loading and priming machines.
  • Complete audits, maintenance, and daily checklists on production equipment.
  • Perform calibration checks on calipers, scales, micrometers, and other measurements daily.
  • Perform the in-process quality checks for conformance to specifications.
  • Able to diagnose when issues occur and interact with the department leadership to resolve issues.
  • Move materials and finished ammunition.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations and wears proper safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing machine experience preferred.
  • Initiative and willingness to learn the operations, paperwork, and mechanical knowledge of the loading and priming machines.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Good hearing and listening habits to determine abnormal machine noises.
  • Good visual skills to determine bullet defects and flaws.
  • This position requires high attention to detail, the ability to meet quality standards, and a team player.
  • Able to lift heavy equipment and boxes, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk around the warehouse for the entire shift.
  • Ability to bend, twist, raise arms overhead, and perform repetitive movements for the entire shift.
  • Able to work overtime when necessary.
  • Must be alert, aware, and able to follow company safety policies.
  • Punctuality and reliability are a must.
  • Must submit to a drug test and background check upon offer of employment.
