The Roofing Service Technician is a specialized professional who is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing roofs in addition to providing excellent customer service. Conducting inspections, identifying issues, and performing necessary repairs or replacements will be conducted on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. It is required that the Technician have experience with various roofing systems and materials and have the knowledge to diagnose issues and provide appropriate solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting inspections of roofs to assess their condition and identify any damage or potential issues
- Performing repairs on roofs, including patching leaks and replacing damaged roofing materials
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning gutters, clearing debris, and applying protective coatings
- Providing customers with detailed reports, estimates, and recommendations for repair or replacement of their roofs
- Collaborating with other team members and contractors to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects
- Keeping accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on each project
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations while performing roofing tasks
- Staying updated on industry advancements, new materials, and techniques to provide the best solutions to customers
Qualifications required:
- Experience in commercial and residential roofing installation, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of various roofing systems
- Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment, such as nail guns, power saws
- Previous construction-related experience required
- A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in roofing is required
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot roofing issues effectively
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality workmanship
- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with clients and address their concerns
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for creating reports and managing project documentation
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Background check and drug screen required upon offer of employment
Additional duties may include:
- Ensuring proper roof ventilation and insulation
- Repairing or replacing damaged or deteriorated flashing
- Installing or repairing gutters and downspouts
- Operating and maintaining equipment and tools necessary for the job
Job Type: Full-time / Monday-Friday / Work schedule to be set by employee!
