Now hiring! Skilled Auto Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles. Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues and fixing them, aiming for maximum reliability and functionality.
Duties:
- Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain, and upgrade.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming to maintain vehicle functionality and longevity.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
- Communicate with the Shop Manager to provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship or 2 years of proven experience as an auto mechanic.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles.
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
- High school diploma is preferred; valid certification (e.g. ASE) is a plus.
- Familiar with tire change-out, rotation, and rebalance.
- Familiar with alignments, brakes, diagnostics, and diesel engines.
- Know how to operate fluid exchange equipment for servicing transmissions, coolant systems, brake systems, other specialized equipment, and hand tools.
- Must have and bring personal mechanic tools for the job.
- Responsible for keeping a clean and organized work area.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
- Must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, team player, and work well with others.
- Must be able to lift & move work-related items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, & bend at the knees & waist.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm
