A2Z Personnel is hiring for a Journeyman Glazier with detailed knowledge of glass manufacturing and the cutting and installation process of glass. This essential role plays an integral part to the successful functioning of a team driven to meet high professional standards in the commercial construction field.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints as they pertain to projects, determining shape, size, color, and thickness of glass
- Fabricate and install moldings for glass installation
- Measure, mark, and cut glass
- Cut and remove broken glass in preparation of replacement glass
- Lift, hold and secure glass panels into position with putty, cement, screws or bolts
- Pack areas between glass panels and molding or frames and trim excess material as needed
- Caulk and seal glass per product and industry standards
- Clean installed glass and ensure job area is presentable
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Journeyman level experience required
- Familiar with OSHA construction job site requirements
- Safety conscientious and willing to follow all company safety standards
- This position requires extensive amounts of time standing, stooping, bending, grasping and lifting objects, manual dexterity, and using fine motor skills to complete tasks
- Must be able to consistently lift 20-100 lbs. with occasional lifting of more than 100 lbs.
- Accurately read a tape measure
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective critical thinker able to work in stressful and challenging circumstances
- Strong attention to detail
- Pre-employment drug screen required upon offer of employment
