Our client is a fast-growing, full-cycle logistics company revolutionizing the 3PL/4PL space through innovation, efficiency, and exceptional service. Backed by private equity and poised for continued expansion, they are seeking a Financial Controller to bring structure, leadership, and strategic direction to the accounting function during this high-growth phase.
Position Summary:
This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for an experienced accounting professional ready to step up and make an immediate impact. The Controller will lead all accounting operations, ensure compliance and accurate reporting, and work closely with executive leadership on financial strategy, private equity reporting, and acquisition readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the monthly close process, general ledger, and preparation of financial statements
Oversee all federal, state, and local tax compliance and financial audit processes
Collaborate with private equity partners and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reports and KPIs
Build, mentor, and manage a growing accounting team
Drive improvements in accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting systems
Support ERP system optimization and integration (experience with Mercury Gate, Acumatica, or similar platforms preferred)
Play a key role in M&A activity, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required)
5–15 years of progressive accounting experience, with 3–4+ years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role
Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and internal controls
Previous experience in a private equity-backed environment strongly preferred
Logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry experience a major plus
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to both strategize and execute
Proficient in ERP systems and Excel; experience with Mercury Gate and Acumatica a bonus
