Lead Pump Mechanic

1 Resource Group is seeking an experienced Lead Pump Mechanic to oversee the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial pumps and rotating equipment. This role will provide technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on support to ensure quality workmanship and operational excellence within the service team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, reassembly, and testing of various types of industrial pumps, including centrifugal, positive displacement, gear, diaphragm, and specialty pumps.
• Lead and mentor mechanics, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Oversee job scopes, parts requisition, work orders, and documentation for pump repair projects.
• Conduct precision measurements and alignments using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and laser alignment tools.
• Interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and specifications to complete repairs accurately.
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to schedule and prioritize work efficiently.
• Ensure proper use of equipment and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform quality control checks and final inspections before delivery to customers.
• Comply with all ISS safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pump repair, maintenance, or rotating equipment services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior mechanic role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial pumps and rotating equipment across multiple OEMs.
• Proficient in precision measuring tools and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screenings.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand, bend, and work in various environments including customer sites.
