Summary: Equipment Field Service Technician is a member of our field service team, handling all aspects of inspecting, repairing, trouble shooting and performing service/maintenance both in the shop or in the field on service calls. The types of equipment to be worked on entails aerial lifts, forklifts, compressors, and generators, to name a few. Travel would primarily be local to regional (working within an approximate 200-mile radius). Occasional overnight travel may be required as the workload dictates.
Responsibilities:
• Performs major, and in many cases non-routine service repairs to customers and company owned equipment in the shop and/or in the field to include customer and project sites.
• Completes necessary paperwork, including work orders, part orders, billing and/or warranty information, as applicable.
• Assists other technicians in advance troubleshooting and problem resolution as called upon.
• Frequent interaction/communication with customers concerning repairs and service needs.
• Maintains an orderly work area/service truck.
• Remains compliant with all applicable policies and procedures/standards.
• Adheres to and supports Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
• Meets expectations on attendance and punctuality.
• Plans, organizes, and carries out assignments as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
• Able to reference, understand and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
• A combination of education and related equipment repair experience equaling five years.
• Must have job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Experience working with/on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electric equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors.
• Experience working on the following types of equipment: aerial lifts, forklifts, compressors, welding machines and other general industrial construction equipment.
• Requires a professional and customer service demeanor.
• As a non-CDL driver, this field position would require a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, along with the ability to pass associated driver requirements to include MVR, driver physical, road test.
• This position operates with minimal supervision and may assist in training other equipment technicians, as requested.
• Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods of time, and working in inclement weather as workload/assignment dictate.
• Able to work overtime (including weekends) and occasional overnight travel as needed.
• The selected candidate must supply own basic tools, larger tools provided.
