1Resource Group is looking for Material Handlers in Baytown, TX for a Plastic manufacturing facility. A Material Handler in a Plastic Masterbatch Manufacturing Plant plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of raw materials, additives, and finished products throughout the plant. This role is essential for maintaining inventory control, supporting production operations, and ensuring safe handling of materials. 

Job Title: Material Handler – Plastic Masterbatch Manufacturing Plant Job Summary: The Material Handler will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and movement of raw materials, chemicals, and finished goods in the plastic masterbatch production process. This role involves assisting in the proper handling of materials, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining accurate inventory records. 


Key Responsibilities: 1.Material Handling: -Load and unload raw materials (such as resins, pigments, and additives) and finished products. -transport materials to production lines or storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. -Assist in ensuring the right materials are available for production without causing delays. 

2.Inventory Management: -Monitor inventory levels, report discrepancies, and ensure accurate records of raw materials and finished products. -Assist in stock rotation and ensure proper storage conditions for all materials. -Work with the warehouse team to perform regular stock counts and assist in materials requisition. 

3.Production Support: -Support production by ensuring timely delivery of materials to production areas. -Coordinate with the production department to ensure proper material availability -Help prepare and stage raw materials for production based on production schedules. 4.Safety Compliance: -Adhere to all safety protocols in the plant, including the safe handling of raw materials -Ensure that material handling equipment is in proper working condition and report any issues to maintenance. -Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

5.Quality Control Support: -Inspect materials for defects or damage before transport and report any issues to the quality control team. -Ensure that all material batches meet production specifications and quality standards. 6.Documentation and Reporting: -Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and waste. -Assist in preparing reports for management on material usage, stock levels, and any discrepancies. 7.Coordination and Communication: ---Communicate effectively with other departments, including production, quality control, and warehouse teams. -Report any material shortages, quality issues, or production delays to the supervisor or manager. 


Qualifications:

•Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in material handling or logistics is a plus. 

•Experience: Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environments is preferred. 

•Skills: -Strong understanding of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). -Basic knowledge of plastic masterbatch materials (resins, pigments, additives) is a plus. ability to follow safety guidelines and work in a fast-paced environment. -Strong organizational and communication skills. 

Physical Requirements: •Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods. •Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift). •Work in varying temperatures based on the plant’s environment. Working Conditions: •Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to chemicals, dust, and machinery noise. •Alternating nights and dayshift working hours, with occasional overtime depending on production needs. 


Salary Range: $16-18
