We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our clients team in Houston, TX. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of engine-driven equipment, such as welding machines, generators, light towers, air compressors, and more.
The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.
Essential Duties:
· Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment in the field.
· Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements.
· Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
· Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and prevent future issues.
· Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
· Keep accurate records of all service and repair activities.
· Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance needs.
· Provide cost estimates for repairs promptly and submit them to sales for customer approval.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in small engine repair is a plus.
· Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role.
· Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
· Familiarity with various small engine equipment brands and models.
· Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Good communication and customer service skills.
· Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job.
· Valid driver's license.
· Must be able to always pass a drug test and MVR
· Must be able to obtain site-specific safety requirements – i.e. safety counsel classes and on-site classes.
Salary:
· $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected Hours & Schedule
· 40 hours per week
· 8-hour days – Monday through Friday
· Rotating on-call shift - nights and weekends
