1 Resource Group is actively hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our clients team of technicians in Tyler, TX. Must be willing to travel for projects when needed.
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining construction equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, cranes and loaders. This position requires a candidate with strong mechanic skills and experience in the hydraulics. Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair faults in heavy construction equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Operate and maintain electronic diagnostic equipment.
Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Identify, order, and replace damaged or worn out parts.
Keep detailed records and reports on all repairs and maintenance activities.
Work with other team members to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Requirements
Must have mechanical aptitude.
Strong analytical skills, able to understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
Two plus years’ experience in repairing heavy equipment.
Background in hydraulics and AC/DC electric.
Welding and/or rigging experience would be a plus.
Experience working on any of the following types of construction equipment: Friction & Hydraulic Cranes, Friction & Hydraulic Winches, Hydraulic Power Units, Electrical Diagnostics, Rigging Equipment would be beneficial.
Requires a professional and customer service demeanor always be displayed.
Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, being on your feet for extended amounts of time and working in inclement weather are needed.
As the workload dictates, some overtime (including weekends) will be required.
The selected candidate must supply own basic tools, larger tools provided.
These are the typical years of experience required for this job.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different job sites.
Must be able to pass a MVR to be insurable on company insurance to drive truck.
