1 Resource Group is hiring a CNC Programmer for our client that is located Northeast side of Houston!
Title: Programmer
Division: Manufacturing Department: Technician
Position Summary: The Programmer position codes, tests, debugs, documents, and installs
both new programs/technologies and changes to existing programs/technologies of a complex
nature. Occasionally will setup and run the program before handover to an operator.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Consult with Design Engineers during the design phase to foster economically
• producible and effective designs for Turbine Blades.
• Create CNC programs for precision machined parts on a variety of CNC machine tools
• including 4 & 5 axis vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes and wire
• EDMs and 6-axis Mill-Turn.
• Maintain programs and documentation in a formal methodical system.
• Update and streamline older programs into new systems / machines.
• Provide support to the Manufacturing Machine Center and assist in problems solving.
• Recommend improvements in methods and tools utilizing the latest technologies to
• maximize manufacturing performance.
• Lower cycle time and reduce scrap.
• Minimize cutting tool inventory for cost control.
• Design fixtures using Solidworks and implement tooling and fixtures needed by Machine
• Center.
• Recommend inspection tools and equipment.
• Provide run time and set-up time estimates for cost accounting.
• Write clear set up instructions for each part including a Solidworks drawing showing
• program zero and part orientation.
• Design Fixtures for New Products in consultation with Design Engineers, design layout
• tools, gage clamps, and assembly fixturing. Provide guidance to the Experimental
• Machinist to facilitate fabrication.
• Provide Design Engineers with advice in designing for practical and cost-effective
• machining.
• Complete technical training and company orientation as required to strengthen
• organizational and technical knowledge.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows
• prescribed safety procedures.
• This position is responsible for adherence to all safety rules and regulations
• Utilize tools and technology provided in an effective and efficient manner
• Willing to attend on-going training to further professional development
• Ensure communication with customers, suppliers, vendors and co-workers are
• professional and appropriate.
• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime weekends and work well with others
• Fit for duty in clean and presentable manner
• Able to travel within and outside of the continental US
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Job Qualifications
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Solidworks certification is a plus
• Previous Mastercam (or other CAM system) training is a plus
Work Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in turbine blade manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of power industry
• Experience in SolidWorks, and SolidCam desired
• Past experience with complex 3d surface milling
• Certifications/Licenses:
• Valid Driver License and Passport
